Hello everyone! This is Ballroom Dance Marketing Manager, Melissa. When designing this website I wanted a accessible way to access news for brand new members. As a council, we put out a weekly email. This is full of many important topics and events for the week including information about our lessons! However, for new members who are looking to join it has been harder to get this information, until now!!
On our website "News" page, I will be uploading a copy of our weekly newsletter and publishing it. This way everyone is easily able to stay up to date. HOWEVER, this does not mean to not join our email list or our discord!! These are vital channels of communication for the club so information can be spread quickly and efficiently. That being said, our "Contact" page should allow you to join our email list. To join the discord come see me, Melissa, at lessons or send me an email which can be found on the "Council" page.
In honor of our first website newsletter, despite this not being my technical job, I thought I'd share some highlights.
First things first, if you are reading this, WE HAVE A WEBSITE! We had many website struggles for years as a club, so hopefully, if I did my job well, we have a nice website for years to come. This website will host a ton of different useful information. It will exist to make our lives easier! (hopefully). We have many different pages. Our "About" page will host information about our club in general. It also will host our schedule which I am hoping to update month to month with a new calendar including our lessons and events. We have a "Photos" page which will contain links to google drive folders which contain our pictures from different competitions. These pictures are free to post anywhere, but please credit the photographer, which is typically our residing Marketing Manager, currently Melissa Jessup. We have a page featuring information about our council, to join our newsletter, and for donations!
In other big news, WE ARE HOSTING A COMPETITION! This has been a lot of planning, but our council, especially our competition manager, has been working tirelessly to make this happen. It is set to take place on October 20th. Registration and details will be posted on the "Cream and Crimson" page when we have them. We are extremely excited to bring back this tradition after FIVE years! It's been a big undertaking but our wonderful council can do anything they put their minds to whenever they work together :)
Cream and Crimson will have many updates in the coming months which should be found here or on our social media accounts (you should follow we're pretty cool). Ultimately, just stay tuned in for news as it will be coming as we continue rolling along!
Lastly, us IU dancers have been up to some pretty fun things this summer. Despite not being in Bloomington together we have continued dancing! We have also been volunteering for the Indy Speedway. It has been a great opportunity. We are counting down the days to be back in Bloom...
But until then Keep Dancing, Friends :)
